Breakfast was exceptional, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean, and there was secure storage for bikes. The awkward bit was the lifts: the old one was out of order, while the new one only reached the second floor, so we had to carry our bags up the last flight to the third. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms, but there was no handbasin in the toilet, so you had to walk between them with unwashed hands.

A decent place for a night or as a base. The local pub is worth a look for its character. The front desk staff were very friendly and spoke English, and there’s underground parking for motorcycles. The double rooms seemed very small, there was no safe or hair dryer, and the bathroom had a shower but no bath. The pool costs extra. Breakfast was okay, though they put out very little bacon even with several guests, only one salt and pepper set, and no tablespoons for cereal, just teaspoons. The restaurant looks nice; I ate there once and found it okay. The meat was barely cooked, so ask for well done if you want medium. The breakfast room also seemed a bit lax. I remember the previous Novotel being very efficient.

We were right in the centre of Loudeac, yet our room was quiet, and everything felt in great shape, like new. It was spacious, on the third floor, and had full-width windows that opened completely onto a lovely sunset, with church bells nearby. There’s a lift. The room was spotless down to the mirrors, taps and shower, with no dust, marks, water spots or stray hairs anywhere. The cleaning staff clearly pay close attention to detail. The queen bed was super comfortable, with quality linen and amazing pillows, a welcome change after the tiny lump of foam on the Armorique! There was a huge 50" LG TV with French and English channels, plus complimentary robes, slippers, shower gel and bottled water. Tea and coffee were a nice surprise. The young reception staff were friendly and helpful, and patient with our terrible French. They also sorted out a bottle of very drinkable Chardonnay for 20€ late in the evening, then an ice bucket when we asked. The bar was comfortable and inviting, and we had a drink there before dinner. We skipped breakfast, though the room looked nicely arranged, and we’ll try it next time. We’d also have tried the hotel restaurant, but it was closed that night. Instead, we went to La Bisquine, a short walk away. It filled up soon after we arrived at 7.30pm, and people were turned away. We’d checked the area earlier and booked a table. There’s no hotel parking, but a large free car park is about five minutes away, opposite a big Boulangerie & Sandwicherie. We left the car there overnight and it was perfectly safe. We’ll definitely return to Brit Hotel Les Voyageurs. It was an excellent experience and very good value, and a great central base while house hunting in Brittany.

The town location was a bit cramped, but the excellent food, service and friendly, comfortable atmosphere more than made up for it. My husband and I stayed for two nights in June 2013 and really enjoyed it. The food was amazing, and the staff were kind and helpful. We’d happily recommend the hotel.

The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and breakfast was a pleasant buffet. The grocery store is about 10 minutes away. Parking is below the post office and costs 10€ for each 24 hours.
