The rooms felt clean and homely, and the French owners were incredibly hospitable. They went out of their way to help our family with our two young children and whatever we needed. Their English may be limited, but their actions spoke volumes. The hotel is close to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. It looks rustic from outside, so don’t let that put you off. I strongly recommend it for the service, and wish the owners good business.

The older man on staff was really kind and understanding, and helped us a lot. We arrived early, but since a room was available, they let us check in ahead of time.

For the price, the location is hard to beat. The owners were funny and so welcoming, and made sure we felt looked after. Highly recommend!

We were a family of five on a two-day pilgrimage to Lourdes, and the welcome at Hotel Saint Charles is something we’ll remember. The hotel is in a great spot, and the children especially loved the vintage elevator. We felt at home, enjoyed a plentiful and excellent dinner, and liked spending time with the owners.

Pilgrims heading to Lourdes will find it about a five-minute walk away, and groups can get special rates. They can also welcome you from 6:00 a.m. if needed. It’s a well-kept place, though a little dated, with a warm welcome and fully homemade meals. The cooking is classic French, very tasty and generous, especially for big eaters. Honestly, I wish there were more places like this. I rarely give Fix a ten out of ten, but it’s deserved.
