The location was perfect, and the staff were kind and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable during our recent trip to Lourdes.

The man who runs the hotel was super friendly and helped us with lots of things while my friend and I stayed three nights during the Tour de France. The rooms are basic, but fine if you’re not picky. It was great value given the price and timing of our trip, and I’d stay here again.

The dinner was simple but really flavoursome, and there’s a lovely view of trees and mountains from the front. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The gentleman spoke good English and got us a vase for our flowers, while the lady was patient and friendly as we ordered despite the language barrier. The dog greeting us at reception was a nice bonus. Great value, and I’d definitely recommend it.

My husband and I had a confirmed booking at Hotel Saint-Clair, but after a long and exhausting drive we arrived around 2 AM and were refused entry. A man answered the intercom and said check-in was only allowed until midnight. We told him we had a reservation, had nowhere else to go, and were stranded outside late at night. I tried to explain politely that being on the street at that hour felt unsafe, but he kept shouting that we were too late and would not open the door under any circumstances, even though he was inside and could see us. There was no attempt to help, no empathy, and no respect for paying guests. This rude, aggressive behavior is unacceptable in hospitality. I strongly advise against staying at Hotel Saint-Clair. If this is how they treat guests with confirmed bookings, I can only imagine how they handle other issues. Deeply disappointing.

The walk to the pilgrim site takes about 15 minutes, and the scenery makes it pleasant. The staff are very friendly, and there’s a cute dog. The hotel is outdated, as you’d expect from a two-star place. Bring a hair dryer if you need one. There are no window screens, so watch out for big bugs coming in, though you’ll definitely want the window open for some air.
