The gated private parking seems to attract other people too: I spotted Lotus and Porsches in the car park at this very reasonably priced hotel. It’s a comfortable little place right on the seafront. If you’d rather have a quieter room than a sea view, the rooms at the back may be better, looking over the quaint town toward the fields.

Luc-Sur-Mer was a great base for visiting the WW2 landing beaches, with all of them easy to explore from here. The hotel is a little dated, but our room was clean and comfortable, and the balcony had a great view across the channel. Breakfast was the usual European style, with excellent coffee and croissants.

A great spot for visiting the beaches or just taking a summer break. The staff were delightful, the beds comfortable, and there are good restaurants and the beach nearby. And the price is perfect.

I’ve paid £170 for tonight and tomorrow and have the email confirmation, but the hotel is closed until Wednesday and there’s nobody available to speak to. It’s 10:30 pm, check-in is allowed until 11, and we’re stuck. I wish I could give zero stars.
