The terrace beside the river Loir makes dinner especially lovely in the warmer months. When it's cool, the dining room feels comfortable and welcoming instead. We've been coming to the restaurant at the Port des Roches for more years than I can remember, and the meals have been superb every time. It's a small hotel run by the husband and wife owners, so the menu isn't large, but everything on it is excellent. They use fresh local ingredients and cook with care, and the prices are very reasonable. There's also quite an extensive wine list. The few rooms are comfortable and cozy, and both the owners and staff are warm and friendly. The serving staff are well trained, which isn't always the case in France, and that adds to the experience. Go, eat, and enjoy.

We always make a stop here when we're in the area. It's a fantastic little hidden gem, with traditional dishes given a modern touch and really friendly owners. The service is great too. After dinner, sitting by the river with a coffee is lovely. We'll be back!

That sunny evening on the pretty, flowery terrace garden by the banks of La Loire was a treat, especially with shade from a tree. The supper was delicious and served excellently. Our bedroom was clean, comfortable and modern, with an ensuite and a charming hand-embroidered room number on the door.

The food was good, and the service was friendly and efficient when I went for dinner with friends. The decor is very old-fashioned, though. The auberge sits on the banks of the Loir, so I'll come back in warmer weather.

Eating by the banks of le Loir is brilliant, and the Auberge always makes for a great experience. The location is good, the food is good, and the service is superb. The rooms are cosy too, making it a wonderful place to stay. Somewhere close to perfection.
