Ken won us over once we called and met him. We’d arrived after a long day of sightseeing and, at first, the quiet and a few crumbling stone buildings left us a little underwhelmed. He showed us a romantic, well-equipped room with a modern shower bathroom, teapot, fridge, and a small balcony porch in the afternoon sun. The historic dining room has good Wi-Fi, and Ken made us a lovely French breakfast with hot baguette from the oven, cheese, ham, fruit, and more. Some buildings date from the 1300s. He enjoys telling their story and offering regional travel advice. Ken is from England and speaks perfect English. We recommend it!

The pool sits beautifully among the greenery, in a peaceful, tranquil setting. This lovely B&B is near Figeac and Capdenac-le-Haut. We were warmly welcomed, and had a delicious breakfast in a room that brings to mind another era. The owner is passionate and engaging when he talks about the place’s history.

The view from the pool is breathtaking, and we’d be very happy to return. We had an extraordinary stay at Les Jardins de la Contie, with magnificent surroundings and accommodations, plus an exceptional welcome from our host. He’s passionate about the place’s history and shared some of it with us, along with a very British sense of humor.
