It’s such a relaxing place to stay. I loved sleeping with the windows open and the fresh air coming in, and the bedding was marvelous. The garden’s really pleasant too, with a pool and places to sit.

The room felt musty, had no ventilation, and the hygiene seemed very questionable. Even though all three rooms were rented, we weren’t given keys because the hosts said they “trusted” us. The electric gate was locked, and without a remote it was hard to come and go freely. The hosts were rarely around, and when we did see them they weren’t pleasant. As soon as we arrived, we heard a remark along the lines of, “It would be convenient if you didn’t eat with us...” At 9 pm, someone knocked to ask what we wanted to drink at breakfast, whether we were asleep or not, but that information hadn’t been passed on by morning. There were lots of animals, which was nice in the daytime. But with no air conditioning and temperatures at 34 degrees Celsius, the windows had to stay open, and the dog barking outside until midnight was pretty annoying. Before leaving, we asked to speak with the hosts about all these problems. The cleaning lady relayed their answer: “No, she’s tending her garden. She told me to let you in; you can leave.” We often stay in guesthouses and B&Bs and know that things can go wrong, but we’ve never run into this many problems. Vastly overrated. Avoid at all costs!!!!

The warm welcome was the best part. Our hosts were smiling and very helpful, and I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast. We’d booked a weekend at La Table de Pierre for the end of October with a Wonderbox gift voucher. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful, and the breakfast was generous, with a good mix of sweet and savory options. It was served in a lovely, well-kept setting full of flowers. We also had 45 minutes in a private-room jacuzzi. For a reasonable extra charge, we enjoyed an excellent homemade dinner with local specialties.

The owners welcomed us warmly and paid attention to what we needed throughout our stay. This charming, tastefully decorated house sits in the middle of the forest, and it’s absolutely worth a stop.

We spent one night in the B&B, with dinner for two. The welcome was friendly, and our room was nicely decorated and well equipped. There were two dinner options. We picked the one for €20 per person: a lovely Périgord salad and homemade tart, with wine and an aperitif included. Perfect. Breakfast was generous too.
