Hotel Therese

The staff made us feel very welcome. Veronica was helpful with recommendations, and she, the other two women, and the two men on the night desk were all friendly and hospitable. We stayed ten days and were very happy with our choice. The decor felt warm, the quirky halls and stairs added charm, and sensor lights came on when we stepped out of our room or the elevator. For a boutique hotel in Paris, our room was roomy, and the bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable, even for someone who usually struggles to sleep away from home. The bathroom had a large tub and a shower with strong pressure. There’s complimentary tea from 4-6 PM in a sitting area, or you can have a cocktail instead. Japanese restaurants and other cuisines are nearby, Avenue de l’Opera is under five minutes away on foot, and buses and the metro are easy to reach. We’d absolutely come back. The stay helped make our Paris trip memorable.

Veronica at reception was especially thoughtful and attentive, and everyone we met was warm and friendly from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless and felt both comfortable and elegant, with the staff clearly taking care over the details. Therese Hotel Paris is right in the heart of the city, which made it easy to get to famous sights as well as tucked-away places. I had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return.

The room was decent overall, though very small, and I liked the hotel’s design. What put me off was the way two staff members responded when we asked why we had to leave our keys at reception. One woman and one man answered aggressively even though we were asking a simple question calmly. Their attitude seemed to change once they realized I was Chinese and not Japanese. At other times the staff could be kind and smile, but this interaction made us feel as if we weren’t the customers. It was a strange way to run a hotel, and it left us reluctant to speak with them. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you expect to be treated as a customer.

We could walk to everything we wanted to see and enjoy the street views along the way, so we never needed the metro. There are two stations within a five-minute walk, though. The hotel is right in central Paris, and the desk staff, housekeeping team, and servers all gave excellent service. I’d happily stay again on a return visit.
