Gîte La Maisonnée

The Pyrenees are a beautiful place to relax, and Anne and Christophe took such good care of us. I highly recommend this establishment 😍👍

We ate very well, with generous and delicious vegetarian menu options. Everything was excellent, especially the succulent tiramisu. Meals are served at a communal table, with a daily menu or raclette. We had a private four-bed dorm for two nights; the room and private bathroom were very comfortable. Just keep in mind the amenities are those of a hikers’ lodge rather than a hotel. It’s conveniently located for hiking in the surrounding area.

The meal was such a nice way to wrap up our time in the region. We were 22 people, and the raclette was excellent. Everyone got a warm welcome too. Perfect.

The kitchen was the one bright spot for me. The food was homemade, though you don't get to choose what you eat. The woman there was really friendly, but the man came across as arrogant and rude. The room was tiny, there were no pillows, and during my four days there they didn't replace the towels or empty the trash. If you're traveling with a bike, you can't take it to your room. They keep it in a garage near the property, behind a wooden door you could open just by blowing on it. You have to wait for him to open or close it because he doesn't trust you, especially if you're Spanish. I also had trouble getting an invoice. A friend had made the booking, but I paid for the stay. He wouldn't give me the keys until the person who booked it arrived. He told me to email the details and said he'd send the invoice, but when I did, he replied that he wouldn't provide it because my friend had left a 5/10 review on Booking.com. In short, he's a jerk. I wouldn't recommend this place. Don't even think about it.
