The beds were among the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and our beagle was treated very kindly. We had a generous, original and delicious meal at the house, with plenty of good wine to sample, though I was never pressured to try it. Breakfast was fabulous and healthy, and the teas were refined. We visited in July, and the hosts were welcoming, easy to talk to and full of stories, with none of the snobbery you might expect. The nearby wind turbines made no audible background noise. We'll surely return if we're in the area.

Right in the heart of the valley of kings, this place feels poetic and generous, a real reflection of the know-how of the « Angevins ».

Our room was spacious, with lovely authentic touches alongside beautiful modern bathroom fixtures and a hint of Japanese style. We loved it. The rural Loire surroundings are lovely, though outside the weekend you'll need to drive a bit to find a restaurant. Gâtines serves a lavish, abundant breakfast, just as generous as the welcome. The owner greets you with a good glass and stories about the unique property and his cool car collection. Three big, beautiful, sweet dogs will be there to meet you. It's a wonderful place, though don't expect anything fancy.

The food was excellent, and the welcome felt warm, generous and sincere. The location is exceptional, and the evening was sensational. I can't imagine being disappointed. Unforgettable, and I really mean it.

The pool was lovely, the bedding was comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. My husband, son, our two dogs and I were very happy with our stay at the Manoir de Gâtines. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches. Thank you for such a warm welcome!
