Grand Magic Hotel

Mum says: In February the room felt cold, but staff brought us a heater when we asked. Breakfast had plenty to pick from, even though the options were much the same every day. Dinner cost 40 euros per adult and 17 per child if you weren't on a meal plan. Staff were great and the hotel was tidy. The shuttle times were posted at reception, but the last bus back from Disney left soon after the fireworks. Everyone was trying to leave at once, and it was hard to get on unless you could rush. The crush with buggies and wheelchairs was unpleasant. We chose this hotel because it didn't look as boring as the others, though there wasn't much to do there since we were visiting the parks. The TV had a few English channels, including ITV, Film4 and Sky News. There was a kettle and hair dryer, but no safe or fridge in the suites. I loved the croissants and grated carrots, and the room was clean with a really comfy bed. They even have a cotton candy machine! I recommend the small vanilla one, although it's bigger than my head. It costs only 5 euros. Such a slay stay, especially because it's so close to Disneyland. I'm 12.

The rooms were dirty, and the downstairs guest toilets were nasty and often smelled of old urine. Reception gave me information at check-in two days ago that didn't fit together. Staff may look professional, but many seemed lost and couldn't answer basic questions. They also failed to pass important messages among themselves, wasting customers' time and money. Their carelessness made me miss my bus this morning. The man at reception then was inconsiderate and offered poor customer service. I doubt they had completed the required training. This was frustrating, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel. Stay away if you don't want your holiday ruined.

The first day got off to a bad start when the shuttle came before the scheduled time. We watched it leave and then waited over an hour for the next one, since afternoon buses come less often. We lost an hour at the park. The hotel itself felt pleasant and magical, with cozy, clean rooms and comfortable beds, and its location near the park was handy. But its shuttle also serves other hotels, so at park closing the bus stop is packed and getting onto a bus can mean pushing through a stressful crowd. Waiting until midnight might help avoid some of that crush.

The price was high, and the stay wasn't worth it. The family room's sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the carpet had huge, disgusting stains. The room hadn't been cleaned properly. Breakfast was the exact same thing for all six days, which got boring fast. Some staff were kind, but restaurant workers bumped into me more than once while I was pushing a stroller. The hallway was also extremely noisy for the first two nights, even though we were in a family room with three children, including two babies. The carpet was filthy, and I wouldn't recommend this place.
