Cannes was lovely, and this is a handy base if that’s what you’re after. The campsite is about a 15-minute walk from the beach and the grounds are basic but reasonably maintained. The old pool area is kept up, too. We stayed six nights in our motorhome, but at €70 a night this was by far the most expensive pitch we paid for during five weeks in France, and I expected a lot more. The showers are unsafe, flipping from freezing to scalding, and there’s little or no warm water for washing dishes. People raised these problems in reviews at least three years ago, but they’re still happening. The place feels like the owners are charging as much as they can for the location while putting very little investment or effort into the site. Great as a base to explore Cannes, but if you want more, look elsewhere.
We prefer somewhere more rural and relaxed, so this campsite wasn’t for us. It felt too regimented, the gravel pitches were small, and finding somewhere to walk the dog was difficult. I’m sure other campers will enjoy all the facilities.
The location worked well for meeting friends along the coast. There’s a lovely riverside walk to small beaches, and you can hire a boat. It’s a city site, and while our pitch was fine, the pool area with hammocks and sunbeds looked lovely, even though apartments overlook it from one side and one end. The sanitaires were excellent. The site itself was fine, but we wouldn’t return because of the staff’s politeness. They were the least friendly staff of the eight sites we’d stayed at so far. One woman was efficient, if not friendly. Another was downright rude when we told her the electricity had tripped on a bank of four connections. She angrily told us not to touch it and insisted there was no problem, even though it clearly seemed to be the mains supply. I’ve been an electrician in the UK for over 40 years. We gave up, plugged into another working connection, and went out for the day. When we got back, it had been fixed. I suspect our French neighbors got a warmer response, and the issue she’d said wasn’t a problem was sorted while we were away. Use the site for what it is, and it’ll be OK.
The staff were a real asset, so helpful and friendly, and clearly worked very hard. The site was well kept, with a lovely pool and clean, accessible facilities. Its location was perfect for visiting Cannes, Antibes, Nice, and Monaco. A gem for our trip, and we’d absolutely recommend it as part of a holiday in the South of France!
We had a great time camping here with our motorhome for the second time. Anaïs is so upbeat, friendly, and helpful, and the people running the site are fantastic. It’s a perfect base for the Cannes film festival, having coffee by the water, or relaxing at the beautiful pool. Thank you, and we hope to see you again next year 🙏
