Breakfast was a real treat: we chose the night before, then had freshly squeezed orange juice, lovely bread, and wonderful croissants in the garden when the weather allowed. There’s also a large summer kitchen for guests and several local restaurants within walking distance. It’s a peaceful stop after a long day, with La Rochelle and other better-known, busier towns close enough to visit. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, even offering cool apple juice when we arrived. Our room was clean, comfortable, and, thankfully, cool. Guests can use the garden and swimming pool, and there were kettles, tea, coffee, and toiletries in the room. All the rooms open onto the garden, which is a secure place to park a car or leave bikes. Ours faced the front of the property and the river, with a small road in between. There was hardly any traffic, and the room stayed very quiet.

A perfect peaceful spot for a few days to recharge, with a really generous breakfast. François gave us an extraordinary welcome, and the setting felt magical. There’s kayaking and cycling to enjoy too!

Our granddaughter had a great time with the animals, and my husband enjoyed them too! We felt right at home with François and Patricia. François looked after us so well and was always trying to make us happy. We really appreciated all the little extras. Good luck, and thanks again 😊

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped, and the place itself is really pleasant. François was available and thoughtful, with lots of nice little touches. I’ve stayed here several times on business and highly recommend it.
