The Super U is right next door, and the staff are attentive and accommodating. The place is friendly and pleasant, with a pool big enough for all the bungalows, a nice self-service barbecue area, and grass beside it for badminton or football. There’s also a slide for children. I’d recommend it for a short stay, though it’s a long way from the lively coast.

The staff and reception were friendly, and the rooms were clean with good-quality bedding. But the complex is aging: the apartment terraces wobble, screws stick out in several places, and the railings are covered in splinters. There’s no Wi-Fi, and privacy between apartments is lacking, with the bedroom window facing the neighbor’s terrace stairs. The website photos look like they must date from when the residence was built. At €284 for two nights, it still feels expensive for what you get.

The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms a decent size, and the prices really very reasonable. It’s a pleasant, friendly hotel with pool areas, a spa, a shared barbecue, and sports fields. My only complaint is the timing: checkout is at 10 a.m., and the pool and spa also open at 10 a.m., so we couldn’t enjoy the last day.

There’s room to spread out here, unlike in a hotel room. It’s a small apartment, but clean and bright, opening onto a park. We would’ve liked to have breakfast on the terrace, with the basket delivered the day before to enjoy on our own, if the season had been right. It’s a pretty good place by the river, though a bit out of the way, about 20 minutes from La Rochelle and the Île de Ré.
