Notre Bastide

We stayed three nights in the spacious, comfortable Violette room, and we're already thinking of coming back. Didier and Gisèle showed us around their peaceful haven when we arrived, then shared a cocktail and tips about the area, including the Périgord sights, and even booked restaurants for us. Breakfast was generous, varied, carefully prepared, and absolutely delicious, with plenty of sweet and savory choices, including homemade pastries, jams, and spreads. We also chose the set menu dinner, and it was a feast. The duck breast was divine. After all the walking and visits to one beautiful castle after another, the spa was just what we needed for our aching muscles. A truly beautiful, peaceful place, with incredibly welcoming hosts.

Our stay went beyond what we expected, and we'd happily return. A huge thank you to Gisèle and Didier for making us feel so comfortable. Everything seemed designed to make the visit go well, from the warm welcome to the tastefully decorated, spotless house. Their advice on local activities and restaurants was helpful, and the homemade breakfast was the highlight, clearly made with love. It's such a nice moment when everyone gathers together. A quiet, very clean, newly built place north of Sarlat, well located for exploring nearby. The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, the food was outstanding, and we had great conversations.
