Chambres d'Hotes la Source

We paid for the room, but after seeing it I chose to leave. We arrived on June 20th during a heatwave, and with the bedroom window left open the room was stifling. It was dirty, the shower was very dirty, the mirror was covered in stains, and the towels smelled strongly. We told the owner, who didn't seem pleased, then said goodbye and got no reply. The photos are outdated. Avoid this place at all costs.

The countryside setting is beautiful, just right if that's what you're after, and the breakfasts are great. We had a very nice room with good bedding, and the hosts were friendly and pleasant.

Two peacocks came to greet us at the window each morning. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it worked well for a family of four. It's a lovely, peaceful place near Mareuil-sur-Lay. Just watch out for the rather steep stairs if you have children.

The beds were comfortable, and there are board games available. Breakfast was perfect, with homemade yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a choice of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea, plus a basket of brioche, bread, croissants, and pain au chocolat. The hosts were charming and discreet, and gave us a warm welcome. Rooms have TVs.
