Château Marquis de Terme

We had a reservation for a room, and it was confirmed and charged automatically. But the host didn't answer any of my many calls, either the day before we arrived or on arrival day. We went to the property and found the castle empty. We waited over an hour, called, and tried to find someone, but nobody showed up. That evening we had to urgently find somewhere else to stay. The whole thing felt like a scam and completely unprofessional, led to a lot of extra expenses, and ruined our evening.

We were really disappointed. The rooms weren't ready until 5:30 p.m., and there were barely any towels because they still had to be washed. When we got back from dinner, the lights didn't work. The whole property also seemed very neglected. Nothing went right.

France Bike arranged one night here for us, and we also raised our concerns with them. We had been told to expect “luxurious accommodation,” but that wasn't what we found. The rooms themselves are nice, though the rest is in poor condition, particularly the grounds. Breakfast is at a nearby 3-star hotel within walking distance, and it's quite basic.

The setting is charming, and the welcome fits right in. A really nice place to stop.
