It's an okay hotel, but not a luxury one. The continental breakfast barely makes the grade, and dinner was fine without being anything special. The place has seen better days and could use a little refresh.

You can expect some of the friendliest service in France here. The staff are courteous and welcoming, with Etienne leading things in a savvy, well-organized way. It's right on the golf course and close to top wine estates, including the famous Chateau Giscours. There's a dizzying choice of the world's best wines. Vive la France!

The Brasserie de Golf was poor quality in the evenings, with the same menu across all 3 nights. It seems aimed at golfers at lunchtime rather than hotel guests in the evening. I also wish the receptionist had smiled.

We've stayed three times now, and the Relais de Margaux keeps exceeding our expectations. It's a perfect base for the wine regions of Margaux, Pauillac, St. Julien, St. Estephe, and beyond. The spacious rooms have beautiful views, and the atmosphere is peaceful. After tastings and tours, we loved relaxing at the spa, with its indoor pool, excellent services, and relaxation room. It really made for a restful spa day. Right beside Château Margaux and surrounded by vineyards, the hotel is a gem in the Médoc region. There are picturesque paths along the Gironde River, golf courses nearby, and restaurants just minutes away. Recent updates have made the place feel fresh and inviting. The rates are very comfortable, so we've been able to extend our stays and make more memories. We can't wait to come back for years to come!

Our original hotel was shut because of flooding, and the staff here were very helpful when we were in a difficult spot. We ended up having a good meal too: pumpkin soup, duck, and passion fruit covered in chocolate, all with a delicious local wine.
