B&B HOTEL Valenciennes Marly

The room was dirty, with dead silverfish on the floor, and I was already frustrated by the check-in. The gate is shut and only opens with a code, and there was nobody at the hotel to help in person. For a late-night arrival, you need to complete check-in remotely beforehand, but the link in the confirmation email led to a page that was no longer available, so I had to call customer support. I haven't waited for breakfast to write this, but I hope things don't get any worse. Worst hotel experience ever. If you can, stay away from this place.

There’s a big retail park close by, with restaurants, a cinema and other things. We’ve stayed at this hotel before, and out of the several B&B hotels we’ve tried, it works well as a stop while travelling across Europe. The rooms are small but comfortable, breakfast is laid out well, and getting in with the codes is fairly easy.

The breakfast was simple but really tasty. I had a bacon and cheese sandwich, good coffee, a big chocolate croissant and cloudy apple juice. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. We were travelling from Hamburg to Paris, so the location suited us perfectly, though we didn't have time to see the town. The rooms were clean and decent, nothing special, but fine for a stay.

The hotel and rooms looked fairly modern, and I’d stay again. Check-in is completely automated, which I’m not keen on, especially since we had trouble getting checked in.
