Clos Lamonzie

The accommodation was clean overall, though the BBQ hadn't been cleaned and the oven trays could have been cleaner. We also felt uneasy about the extra guests in the rooms: we looked them up and found they were house millipedes. They're not dangerous, but can give a nasty sting. There's an end-of-stay cleaning fee, yet the owner still expects the property to be fully cleaned before you leave. I stayed in the last week of August 2023 with my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. One grandchild is autistic, so having privacy and sole use of the pool was a real plus. The house is larger inside than the photos suggest, which don't do it justice. Shops and Sarlet take about 20 minutes to reach along winding country roads. It looked like work was underway to add another three gites. If that happens, the pool won't be big enough and the privacy of not sharing it will no longer be an attraction. I always leave honest reviews, so make of this what you will.

A great holiday home in a fantastic setting, with a superb pool and a helpful host. The air conditioning was definitely needed. We had no issues at all.

The villa gave our family and friends the chance to slow down, reconnect, and make some lovely memories. It was peaceful and relaxing, and we definitely want to come back. The countryside views are beautiful, and the pool looks out over the landscape with nature and wildlife all around. Our children spent hours swimming every day, sometimes until 11pm. Everything we could think of seemed to be provided, from a fully equipped laundry room and air conditioning in every room to plug adapters for guests who forgot one. A village with a nice restaurant is just a two-minute drive away, great for a relaxed meal out. We also arranged the private chef for a birthday celebration. The food was cooked perfectly, and the views and atmosphere made it a memorable evening. Thanks for an unforgettable stay!

We had an unforgettable stay at the charming Clos Lamonzie cottage. The peaceful setting and magnificent pool made it easy to relax, and the renovated separate living room was a welcoming place to gather with family or friends. One host clearly loves cooking and serves a wonderful table d'hôte meal. The dishes use fresh local ingredients and celebrate Périgord: tender duck confit and crispy walnuts from the garden were among the treats. A delicious, authentic regional meal.
