Hotel 96

I enjoyed my stay a lot and will definitely come back soon. Hotel96 has a great atmosphere, spacious and beautiful rooms, and a garden. It feels nicely away from the crowded city, but it’s still easy to reach by bus or car. We didn’t book breakfast, though it looked okay. For the price, it’s really good value. I’d be happy if all three-star hotels were like this.

A calm, comfortable place with a lovely garden, sauna, and pool. The decor is tasteful, the setting is close to Calanques National Park, and the staff are professional and helpful. I also liked the good breakfast buffet and the ecological approach to running the hotel.

I really enjoyed the gardens and the delicious breakfasts, which are good value. The hotel is charming, quiet, and out on the edge of Marseille. It’s not difficult to get there from downtown by transit, and the nearby Calanques are a short bus ride away. I do wish it were a bit closer to Marseille, though then it probably wouldn’t be as peaceful or pretty.

The pool was beautiful, with fragrant flowers around it and plenty of shade. I also really enjoyed the food: fresh breakfast twice and dinner twice, all delicious. My deluxe double room was clean, had a comfortable bed, a nice outdoor area, and drinks and snacks for purchase. I stayed three nights at Hôtel 96, and the staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful. I only know a couple of words of French, badly, but they answered my questions and gave me recommendations and support. The location worked perfectly for my trip, though it wouldn’t be ideal if you want to spend lots of time in central Marseille. I got to La Calanques with a 10-minute walk followed by a 20-minute bus ride. The streets are narrow and steep, so that may matter if you have mobility concerns. You can tap a credit card on the bus instead of needing a ticket. I’d suggest going as early as possible and checking whether a park permit is required that day. Magical stay, and I hope to return!
