Hotel Montgrand

The room was great, clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. It was just like the photos, and the air conditioning worked really well, which mattered a lot in the crazy heat outside. Whenever I had a request or problem, it was sorted out right away, and my questions were always answered quickly. The hotel has a pleasant, cozy atmosphere. It’s a 5-7 minute walk from the old port, with lots of shops and shopping streets nearby. Two shopping centers are close, and the nearest beach is 15-20 minutes away on foot or by bus. Definitely recommend!

They lured us in with false advertising, then greeted us with a closed door and nobody around. After a lot of difficulty, we got a confusing email that sent us to the wrong room. It took an escape-room-like quest to get inside. The room wasn’t finished and was full of dust and debris. They said the manager would contact us about it, but we never heard anything. As if that wasn’t enough, the front door got stuck and we couldn’t get in for two hours. We nearly fell through the trap door in front of the hotel. Please respect yourself and don’t give these people your money. Maybe the torture will stop for all of us. Viva la France! Now ADIRA is trying to cover up their incompetence by spreading lies. They claim I forgot the door code, which simply isn’t true, and they even imply that I’m lying. That’s unacceptable and completely misrepresents what happened. Do yourself a favor and don’t give them your money. Let’s put an end to this torture for all of us. Viva la France! Beware: ADIRA is spreading false information!

You can get around Marseille without a car from ADira. It’s right in the center, with the Old Port, Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Panier district, and MuCEM all within walking distance. Restaurants, shops, and local markets are close by too, so it’s easy to explore the city and try its food.

The apartment itself was reasonably clean and well located, with good internet and a terrace. But the stay was a mess. We were in Marseille for four nights, and ADIRA first sent us the wrong entrance code. The replacement codes were wrong too, so we had to ask other guests to let us in. Then strangers came into our room several times because ADIRA had booked it for them as well. When we were leaving to catch our train, a power outage meant the front door wouldn’t open. We tried contacting staff several times and got no answer. The emergency button didn’t work either because the power was out. All I could think was, what if there had been a fire? We’d have been trapped. There was no dishwasher, so we washed dishes by hand. That would’ve been fine if we’d had towels to dry ourselves with. We used the bathroom instead and were charged €60. TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED 😡🤬
