The room service also left me with questions. On the first day, after cleaning, the sandwich I’d made for my children was gone. The next day all our toothbrushes and toothpaste had disappeared for no reason. My family and I stayed three days with breakfast included, and every one of us got diarrhea not long after breakfast each day. The food itself was awful. One of my children can’t have lactose or gluten, but the options were cheese, plenty of bread and croissants, milk, yogurt, corn flakes, and a few apples. Every day my child was left with apples and dry corn flakes. For a hotel calling itself two-star, that’s below the bare minimum. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

We spent as little time here as we could because we just wanted to move on to our next stop. The one bright spot in a rough location was the McDonald’s across the street. Check-in was fine, and we got a code for the room, but the room itself was horrible: dark colours, poor lighting, and a rock-hard bed. I’m not sure whether the air conditioning was working when we stayed in mid August, but it didn’t cool the room as well as other Budgets we’ve used. Breakfast had the worst selection we’ve seen from the chain, and there were odd smells around the hotel. I guess you get what you pay for, though I wish we’d spent a little more. Wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was like a sauna, and the air conditioning did nothing. Street noise was ridiculous even with the windows shut. There wasn’t much space, which I can accept in a budget room, but the shower was barely working and wouldn’t stay in position, the towel was ripped, and the washbasin was oddly placed right by the sockets. I could pee faster than that shower ran. The staff were unfriendly throughout. They made us feel like an inconvenience, and not one of them offered a pleasant word. It’s budget by name and nature, but the price isn’t budget. I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this is by far the worst. I won’t stay at an Ibis Budget again. I’ve noticed several poor reviews with no response, while the one person who left a good review got a reply. In my opinion, it’s a joke of a hotel.

After my flight from Marseille home was cancelled, I booked this hotel that day. Check-in staff were very rude, and I didn’t feel welcome. At first glance the room seemed to be in working order, but then I saw ants all over the floor, shower, and toilet, including the seat. When I told the check-in staff, I got the cold shoulder and was told there was nothing they could do because the hotel was fully booked. I understand that, but I still expected them to try to accommodate me somehow. There was another Ibis across the road, so surely some arrangement could have been made. I have photos and videos to prove what I saw. Shocking customer service. I strongly recommend never staying here.

The breakfast was simple but nice, and the women at reception, especially in the morning, were very kind. The rooms were small but okay. The sink being inside the room was annoying, and the toilet was so cramped that I felt claustrophobic. The pillows were old and felt flat. The neighbourhood was shabby, and the hotel seemed full of suspicious-looking people, which made me feel unsafe.
