Un Duplex au Panier

We were really disappointed, especially after seeing the good reviews. Booking.com adds a €40 cleaning fee, yet the place didn't seem clean at all. When we tried to mop up after the shower leaked and flooded the room, the water came out completely black. The bathroom was very humid, too. The neighborhood also felt unsafe at night, and the door seemed rather unbelievable when we arrived.

The place is beautiful, but the stairs could be a problem if you have difficulty climbing. Breakfast was coffee, juice, milk, brioche, butter, and jam. We don't like sweet breakfasts, so we had to buy our own. The butter left out for us was used and moldy 😱, though the lady brought new ones on the second day. There were a lot of things we might have overlooked: a broken kettle, awful beds, no way to ventilate, dirty shower cubicles, ants everywhere, and heating that didn't work upstairs. But Paula's behavior at the end was too much. At 9 pm the night before we left, and only after being called, she messaged us to leave around 12:30 and said we SHOULD CLEAN UP AND TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE. There wasn't even a PLEASE. When we said we'd paid 40 Euros for that service, she replied she'd like to see the mess at our house, since we don't even take out the trash or wash the dishes, and that we had to leave at 11am. That felt downright cheeky, so we're sharing what happened. Of course, we always tidy up after ourselves wherever we stay.

Sebastián is a delight, and the place is lovely and very clean. It's centrally located, just minutes from the cathedral and port. Panier is a beautiful neighborhood. Highly recommended.

The duplex is lovely, quiet, and in a superb location, but quite a few repairs are needed. The dishes were dirty, the sofa bed wouldn't close, and the TV didn't work. In the kitchen, one hob and the extractor hood light were out, while the socket needs to be properly reattached. The downstairs toilet seat is broken, and the hairdryer has an electrical fault. A shame.
