We had a hard time finding anywhere open on a Monday afternoon while travelling to Colmar, until someone recommended this place. It turned out to be one of the least touristy things we did on the trip. They spoke a little English, and we spoke a little French, and we had a wonderful lunch. The people were so nice. I’d definitely recommend stopping here if you’re travelling in the area.

The food was delicious and good value. We each had a cocktail to start, then a three-course menu, with a carafe of red wine and a glass of white wine. We finished with coffee. The terrace sits under a big tree on a little square in the heart of town, and they found us a lovely table there even though we hadn’t booked. They checked which tables were free and even brought a bowl of water for our dog. The staff were friendly and professional, and the owner was helpful, stopping by some tables to chat.

The dining room has been renovated and still feels steeped in culinary history. In this charming little town of Masevaux, it’s a delightful inn where everything is carefully looked after. The traditional food is expertly prepared, and the service is attentive. Shall we come back?

We had a group menu over the Christmas period for a birthday celebration in the nicely decorated private room. It came with a projector, access to a portable speaker, and Wi-Fi. The meal was exceptional in both quality and taste: gravlax salmon with yuzu sorbet to start, then sea bass fillet with black rice, and vacherin for dessert. The staff were incredibly attentive, and we were very satisfied with the service. The restaurant is beautiful, right in the center, with typical regional decor. Highly recommended!
