Camping de Masevaux

The owners are lovely, and there’s plenty of room on the pitches with lots of trees to provide shade. Food trucks come on certain days, too. The sanitary block was the one drawback for me. It wasn’t dirty, but the building felt quite dated, and there were lots of insects high up around the roof windows. Maybe the owners could put insect killers up there.

We paid €52 for two adults and a dog for our two-night stop on the way farther south. The pitches were a good size, the showers were clean, and the price was very reasonable. It’s a lovely campsite just outside Masevaux.

There isn’t much to do at the site itself, and the nearby village is very small. There is a little river where kids or dogs can paddle, though. The toilets are kept very clean, and the showers have great water pressure. We also liked the small restaurant and bar, with tasty food, cold drinks, and friendly staff. They sometimes put on events, like a rock singer with a pizza night. A really nice little site.

We were just passing through on our way farther south, but it would be fine for a few days. There’s plenty of room on the large pitches, and the facilities were spotless. The grey-water drive-over and easy water refill were handy. Reception was friendly and helpful, and there’s a small bar, though we didn’t use it. The town is quiet but has what you need, including two big supermarkets, one of them an Aldi, so it was a good place to stock up. We hoped to use the pool next door, but it’s state-run and doesn’t allow swimming shorts, only trunks or speedos. That’s just a heads-up, since it has nothing to do with the site. The costs were very reasonable.
