ibis Massy

The hotel manager required a €100 deposit, payable only by card. This wasn’t mentioned when I booked through the Ibis website.

Breakfast was a letdown, with few hot savory choices, so I’ve taken off a star. The hotel itself was clean and nice, and my room met the hygiene standards I expect from the reliable ibis chain. It’s not especially close to the Massy train station. There are some restaurants in the area, though the noise can be a bit much.

The downstairs bar was a highlight, with reasonably priced alcohol and coffee available all night. There are a few restaurants around the corner, but not much else nearby. We ended up needing one extra night in Paris after our flight was cancelled, and the price I was quoted on the phone didn’t match what I was told at check-in. The hotel was small, cute, and well kept, with only basic amenities. The room smelled odd at first, but airing it out with the windows open helped. It did the job, more or less.

The rooms were clean and had enough space, and the water pressure was good. Breakfast was the weak point. The buffet staff didn’t really speak English, and the food took a long time to cook, leaving gaps in what was available. We had to wait 20 minutes to get the hot food.
