The bed was okay, the Wi-Fi was good, and the radiator warmed the whole room. The bus stop is five minutes away. Beyond that, the stay had quite a few problems. The floors were very dirty, the bathroom was smaller than my closet, and there was no bedside table. We got only two small face towels, no body towels or toiletries apart from hand soap. The receptionist didn’t speak English, so we used Google Translate. There was no safe for valuables, and the reception vending machine took coins only, not cards. The hotel is in an isolated area with a few large shops nearby, including McDonald's. Getting to Orly airport takes a long time, so it’s not convenient if you don’t rent a car.

The self check-in at 23.00 worked until it was time to get the key card. I tried four times with three different bank and credit cards, but none worked. Reception disconnected my calls twice without answering, so I finally went to another hotel. The next day I found they had charged me four times for the room and a fifth time for not showing up. I contacted the Accor group helpdesk, who said F1 Maurepas should get back to me as soon as possible. It’s now been five days and I haven’t heard a word. These guys are thieves. Don’t go here, find a better option. This hotel is a joke.

The hotel felt insecure because of some of the other customers, and I saw numerous police arrive the next morning. There were mosquitoes everywhere, flattened on the walls, and the place wasn’t very clean. The bunk beds felt dangerous for kids. The floor should be softer to reduce injuries, and there was no accident form to provide or attempt to dodge. Breakfast was just a bread roll with jam, too basic for the price compared with other budget hotels. The large shops are a few minutes’ walk away, it’s an easy drive back onto the N10 to head south, and Rambouillet is close. Staff were friendly.

The location is great for Versailles, and the basic rooms are about what you’d expect for the price. It was okay for an overnight stay, but I struggled to get in after reception had closed. I’d emailed the manager before arriving and was assured it wouldn’t be a problem. Luckily, someone was on site to help.
