Kyriad Nancy Ouest - Laxou Zenith

The room was clean and updated, with a nice bathroom and a good shower. Unfortunately, it was at the very noisy back of the property. We heard heavy trucks braking and pulling in at the highway entrance and exit, with the highway behind that. Thanks booking.com 😭

The emergency night staff deserve credit. My daughter and son in law got locked out while their 4 year old was asleep inside, and even though it took a while to find keys that worked, the staff kept at it until they got back in. Other parts of the stay were frustrating. The rooms were basic but clean, and the wi fi didn't work. Breakfast was good. Some staff were kind and helpful, while others were grumpy. They wouldn't put the rugby world cup final on the large communal screen because they said they needed to clean, though when we came back to ask again, nobody was cleaning. We squeezed into one of our 3 bedrooms to watch. After the match, that room hadn't been cleaned and the waste basket hadn't been emptied, even though we were out as soon as it ended.

I'm fed up with this chain ignoring requests for a room near reception. Unless you book a disabled room, which I don't need, there's no point asking. I can only walk a short distance, but they don't seem to care, and it keeps happening. I've even been put upstairs at the back of the site. After it happened again at this hotel in May 2019, I cancelled my remaining bookings and rebooked with other chains. I won't use them again.

The dirtiest Campanile I've ever visited. There were spiderwebs in every bathroom corner, the toiletseat wasn't firmly fixed to the wall, and the thermostat made a short-circuit noise for about 2 minutes every 2 hours.
