The food was really good, but the service spoiled what should have been a pleasant evening. Our wine arrived only when we were nearly done with the main course, even after we reminded them several times. The main waitress blamed the new girl, though both of them were at fault. We never got an apology, although they did remove the wine from the bill.

A comfortable bed and a nice breakfast, which costs extra, made this a good value stop for one night on our way south from the UK. The hotel is pretty, in a lovely village, and wonderfully quiet. I went for a walk nearby and spotted an otter in the wild, then another just two minutes later! I’d stay again, maybe for longer to explore the Foret de Troncais.

Everything was just okay: the room was fine, breakfast was modest but fine, and nothing was especially good or bad. The room felt a little pricey for what it was. It’s about 12 km from the highway, which wasn’t ideal for a one-night stop on a longer trip.
