Chalet L Irrawaddy

The large balcony has far reaching views over Megeve and Mont blanc. The property is well equipped and feels like a proper Haute Savoie chalet, set out of town on the Jaillet mountain. This wasn’t my first visit, so I clearly enjoy staying here. Enjoy.

The living area is spacious and opens onto a lovely balcony overlooking the valley, and the flat itself is very roomy. The modern kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Bedrooms are large, with comfortable beds and plenty of storage. There’s one large bathroom with a towel dryer, plus two toilets, and a roomy, well equipped laundry room that’s very handy for wet ski clothes. The chalet is super quiet, with enchanting views over Megève, a real treat. Gilles was a great host, keeping in touch before, during, and after our stay and ready to help with our questions.

Set on Jaillet mountain, the chalet L'Irrawaddy overlooks the village of Megeve and gives you a taste of real Alpine living. It’s spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities for a very pleasant stay. I love stepping onto the balcony day or night for those stunning views, including the peak of Mont Blanc when the weather allows. You’ll preferably want a vehicle, since it’s a 5 minute drive to the centre. It’s quiet and relaxing, and always my first port of call when I go to Megeve. Highly recommended.

There’s ample parking a 1 min walk from the door, and the balcony is big, a great place to catch the sun. The chalet is well appointed with plenty of space, and the kitchen has lots of crockery, pots and pans. It’s located above Megeve with stunning views over the town and the Mont Blanc massif.
