Avoid this overpriced property: Résidence Hôtel Rent - Megève Centre by montblanc-booking.com. This is a sublet, not a hotel as you might expect, and it lacks basic services and amenities. There was no cleanliness, no sheets or towels, and no toilet paper or toiletries, so you’ll probably have to buy the essentials at a nearby supermarket. The studio was in poor condition and had no Wi-Fi or proper bedding. The coffee machines were outdated and unusable, the couch was broken and creaked and sagged, closet shelves were broken, and bunk beds were awkwardly squeezed into a tiny space. The reception desk was unmanned because the room wasn’t part of the hotel. We had to wait and call repeatedly to get the key box code. It seems private individuals are renting apartments within the hotel, which is perplexing and concerning. Avoid this place at all costs.

WORST HOTEL EVER!!! The rooms were extremely dirty and there was no housekeeping. The hallway light wasn’t working, so it was very dark. My sister tripped and accidentally spilled rice. A guy came shouting at us and demanded we clean it within five minutes or all of us would be thrown out. We weren’t refusing to clean it, and my sister came back shortly afterward to do so. He was VERY VERY RUDE!!! We’ve never had an experience like this in any of the hotels we’ve stayed at around the world. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! We wouldn’t have minded leaving that night after the way he treated us, but when we asked for a refund for the remaining nights, he refused and only then said sorry.

The view is nice, and it’s a 15-minute walk from downtown. The place is quite dirty, though, and the rooms don’t match the photos online or the ones they sent me. They looked like they hadn’t been cared for since 1970, I fear. When I raised the mismatch, they told me the photos weren’t “contractual.” The toilet was dirty, and I had to wash the plates and glasses myself. We asked for more cleaning, but it never happened. It’s okay if you just need somewhere to sleep.

We had a great stay, with everything we needed. It was clean and roomy, about a 10-minute walk into the town centre. Parking can be tight, but we got lucky.
