Mercure Bordeaux Aeroport

After arriving late at Bordeaux Airport, we easily walked to the Mercure and stayed one night. Our room was quiet, warm, and comfortable on a cold night. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a drink at the bar and a hearty breakfast. I’d recommend it.

Our room was just average, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We had an early flight, but the shuttle didn’t start until 5:30 a.m., so we had to walk to the airport with our bags in the rain. When we asked about an earlier shuttle, the desk agent wasn’t friendly at all.

The location is perfect, very close to the airport, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were fine, but the air conditioning wasn’t working. The food was mediocre, despite the “great” reviews. Eat out and enjoy the many restaurants!

The room was extremely hot, the air conditioning wouldn’t work, and the window wouldn’t open. Another guest had asked about the air conditioning too, but they wouldn’t turn it on. There was a fridge, but it was filthy, and no milk in the room for the coffee and tea. When I asked housekeeping to send some up, I was told to get it from the bar myself. I did, and they handed me an espresso cup of milk to carry through the hotel. Dinner was mediocre at best, and the panna cotta tasted like rubber. I wish I’d booked somewhere else and wouldn’t stay here again. If Mercure is supposed to be Accor’s high end hotel chain, it failed miserably. There are other hotels near the airport, choose one of those! I arrived at Bordeaux airport and went to where the shuttle buses were supposed to be. I called reception to ask for a shuttle, but after answering they hung up. As a lone woman at night, I was left to get a taxi. Reception were very dismissive when I asked about the shuttle.
