Gites De LHaghedoorn

There’s a large parking area, and the gîte is in a really good location. We had a great weekend there. The accommodation was top notch 👍, a very good choice.

The potch is well worth trying, and everything is homemade. Prices are very reasonable, too. The staff are friendly, and it’s a really good estaminet. If you’re planning to go on a Sunday, book 15 days to three weeks ahead.

The sound carries badly between the neighboring gîtes, and the place was very chilly in the morning, around 18°C. It felt dark inside, with green paint and little natural light. The garden was practically unusable with cars, motorcycles, and trucks passing on the highway less than 10 meters away. There were no shutters or blackout curtains in the children's room, which didn’t suit our children, aged 2 and 6. My stay at the gîte called Charme led to a turbulent business relationship. It might be acceptable for a week, but I wouldn’t stay longer, especially given how good other gîtes in the area were. The owner seems to think she’s offering high-end accommodation, but for the same price there are much better options. Avoid this gîte.

We had lunch with friends in a really pleasant atmosphere. The service was lovely, and there was a great range of regional dishes. Best of all, we got to try some new local beers.
