Best Western Metz Centre Gare

Breakfast had a tasty buffet, though it was a little crowded. The staff were kind, and the hotel is right beside the train station. A lovely place to stay in Metz, highly recommend it.

We got lucky with an early check-in after arriving on 13 Aug. 2025 at 1300. The gentleman at reception was kind and had a clean, roomy, air-conditioned room #109 ready for us and our mini schnauzer. The queen bed was comfortable. The hotel is across the street from Gare de Metz, and we found it quite decent. We’d highly recommend it. 36 delicious outside

In the right room, there was less than 40 cm between the bed and the wall, with the TV mounted above. I kept bumping my head on the built-in fixtures. The toilet lid also seemed like it had been bought without checking whether it fit the toilet.

The room itself was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable, but there were candy wrappers left in the bin. The safe wasn't working. Staff said they'd fix it the next day, so I'm still waiting to see whether that happens. The bathroom and shower were tiny, too. Noise was the biggest problem. My room faced the street and was near the elevator, and it wasn't insulated well. I could hear the street and people in the hallway in the evening. By 6:30 AM the street noise was so loud I could barely hear my alarm at 6:45. The staff were friendly and helpful, although slower than I prefer. I had a long wait while the receptionist checked in a group ahead of me. The express breakfast was good value at €7. I was disappointed, especially given how highly rated the hotel was.
