The welcome at the desk was really warm, and they clearly explained the room, breakfast, and a lovely place to have dinner. We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Meung-sur-Loire. It’s very close to the motorway, which worked well for our trip towards Bordeaux. Their restaurant was still closed after the holiday period, unfortunately, though that was understandable.

We had the larger room, which was a nice size, and the air-conditioning worked fine. The floors were dirty, though, and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Breakfast could be a lot better. The James hotel in Rotterdam does it much better at, amusingly, the same room price. Also, leaking coffee cups were a first for me.

10/10
This felt like a straightforward business hotel, with a helpful front desk, a good bed, bathroom, and breakfast. I gave it a high rating because it was good value. My one gripe was the room thermostat: it only went down to 22 C, which is warmer than I like. Still, the value counts.

My room was very clean, and the woman at reception was helpful. The hotel has a large parking area included in the price. It’s also close to the lovely old city and river. For what it costs, the quality is pretty good, and the place itself is excellent.

10/10
The hotel is well placed, with easy access to the main routes and just a short walk into lovely Meung sur loire. The staff at reception were very polite and professional, and both the hotel and rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good, with the team keeping the bar stocked. Secure on-site parking mattered a lot to me, and it was great to have. I’d happily stay again and recommend it.
