Le Charles V

I had a wonderful return stay with Nadia. The suite is fantastic, though the other rooms are simple. I love the wine tasting ritual on the first evening. Nadia suggested restaurants and helped me book a table. It’s a perfect base for visiting Burgundy’s wineries and the marvelous city of Beaune.

Charles V was an incredibly memorable stay. Nadia and Michel were so hospitable, and the accommodation in Mersault was of a very high standard. The place is impressive and beautifully designed, and during our two nights it really felt like home. I’d highly recommend Charles V to anyone thinking of staying in burgundy. We’d love to come back in the summer.

Dear Nadia and Michel, These past two days were such an impressive experience. Getting to label, bottle, and seal the wine ourselves, then take it back to Switzerland today, made it truly special. We’re delighted with our Echos du Temps. Thank you for everything: your hospitality, as always, the sensational wines, and last night’s special Grand Cru. The room was cozy, beautifully tidy, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. I promised I’d bring the family next time, and I’ll let you know what we’re planning. For anyone reading, this is a place worth a visit. It’s an authentic, well-organized family table, with just two or three parties at a time. They cook for you, and you get to enjoy extraordinary wines. Make time for the wine tastings too, especially the wine globe project, which keeps wines fresh much longer. Heartfelt thanks again. We spent five nights here, and the community dinners were especially good. The hosts and staff were friendly, and everything was great. Charles V is an elegant, intimate hotel in a renovated historic building, right in the heart of the beautiful, old, quaint village of Meursault. There’s also a nice pool and a snooker table. I had to attend a conference in Dijon on three days and leave before breakfast. They set me up with coffee each morning and were gracious about the early noise. The proprietors age an array of superb wines, and dinner is served to guests every night. We really enjoyed the food.
