Le Caveau at Hotel les Charmes has a lovely feel, and the building’s interior adds a lot to it. The owner has made it a distinctive, welcoming wine bar in Burgundy, and from the moment we arrived we felt at home. Adrien was a great host, spoke perfect English, and clearly loves what he does. There’s a terrific selection of affordable small plates to share, along with thoughtfully chosen Burgundies. We’ve enjoyed the different hospitality options in Mersault, but this was our favorite.

The village is a lovely place to try the region’s white wines, and we’d happily return. We had a superb breakfast out on the terrace, then relaxed in the huge garden beneath its old shade trees with wine and a picnic. There’s also a lovely outdoor pool. The staff were very friendly, and our room had a fan. Book direct for the best price.

We’ve stayed in plenty of places during our travels in France, but this hotel stands out as one of the most memorable. Meursault makes a great base for exploring Burgundy. The rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable, the garden was lovely for a picnic or a glass of wine, and the owners were caring and helpful. It’s hard to imagine a nicer place to stay.

We arrived by bike from Beaune with all our packs, and Hotel les Charmes was just right for a rest. The owner was really kind, and it was fun chatting with the other residents. We especially loved being able to step straight into the beautiful green back garden. Felt like paradise in paradise! :)

The staff were so friendly, and breakfast was good. Our room was large, with a renovated bathroom, and there was a fan since there’s no air conditioning. We also enjoyed the pool. Parking is inside the hotel grounds behind a gate that’s closed at night.
