Our first time in a trappeur tent was fabulous. The tents were really comfortable and had some of the best views. We’ve had so many happy holidays at la grappe d’dor, where the grounds, cycling, atmosphere, area, and staff are all outstanding. Thank you for such a great experience.

Our two weeks touring France in a motorhome included a stop at Huttopia Meursault, and we liked it so much it gets my first review. The location is incredible, surrounded by vineyards, and Meursault is just a 10-minute walk away. It’s a small, quaint, quite affluent village, with big winegrowers’ properties, restaurants, wine shops for tastings, and winegrower caves to visit. We also went to Chateau Meursault for a tasting, saw the caves, and learned about wine production in the region. We cycled to Beaune on our own bikes too. The campsite has pitches and lodges, plus a smart bar and restaurant area, though we didn’t use the bar. The pitches are close together, but you’re surrounded by vineyards. There’s a small pool that was lovely to come back to after a hot day cycling to Beaune and back. A bicycle route runs by the campsite through villages and vineyards linked to Bourgogne wines. The staff welcomed us warmly and explained what we could do in Meursault. Alie was especially helpful when we asked about restaurants. He suggested two and even made reservations for us. Staff also recommended wine tastings, so a special thanks to Alie. The showers were clean with lots of hot water, and there’s a service area for motorhomes to fill up with fresh water and empty wastewater. We ordered croissants and pain du chocolates every morning, and they were the best we had in France. This is an excellent campsite, and people like Alie made our holiday special. Thank you, Huttopia Meursault and Alie, for looking after us so well.

We couldn’t wait to leave. The pitches were scruffy and boggy, so we had to use a hard standing area that was basically a gravel car park with motorhomes lined up and an accessible hookup. The snack bar and pool were closed, and the showers and toilets felt tired and cold. There was hot water, and they were reasonably clean. Reception was a bit slow to give information unless you asked. It cost 38 euros a night even though many facilities were closed. I know it’s a chain because I’ve stayed at other Hutopia sites, but I’ve had better stays at municipal sites and won’t return. Why charge that much out of season with half the facilities shut? Also, when we booked in, nobody mentioned any collaboration with restaurants in the area.

The views are incredible, and there’s a lovely Velo Route just outside the gates for cycling to Beaune and beyond. The campground sits right among Burgundy’s vineyards, next to the charming town of Meursault.

We were only here for two nights, so we left the awning in the car. The pitches are so tight that there was no room to put it up, with neighbors close on every side. The location is beautiful, right in the heart of wine country. The semi-outdoor showers were fantastic, as were the bar and pool areas. We might come back, but mainly for the wine and local food.
