Hotel ibis Longwy Mexy

We managed, but the restaurant being closed all weekend caught us off guard. The menu looked good and was displayed in the lift, and the tables were set, so it seemed like food would be available. The hotel is quite isolated, with nowhere nearby to walk for a meal. We tried McDonalds through UberEats and it was grim, though that's not the hotel's fault. The sole employee did her best on her own. It's an Ibis, so the room was the usual spartan setup, but clean and tidy. Just be aware there's no weekend restaurant service.

There's little to walk to nearby, so this seems better suited to an overnight stop while travelling through. My room faced the road and was a bit noisy. The room itself was comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were nice. Staff were friendly too.

Breakfast was very good, as it is at other Ibis hotels, and the blonde lady at reception the next day was very nice. On arrival, though, the front desk staff member was a bit rude, perhaps because they were also working in the restaurant. The room was below the standard I'd expect from an Ibis and needs refurbishing. The flooring was coming away, and the bathroom wasn't very clean: there was hair in the sink and shower, plus stains in the toilet bowl.

I arrived at three in the morning, so I couldn't ask for a different room. The heating was turned all the way up, and there was an incredible smell of smoke. The WC and chair were dirty, and I couldn't tell whether anything else might be dirty too. Only a few of the clothes hangers were usable; many were broken. Very bad experience. I advise against this hotel.
