The setting and room were lovely, and the owners were friendly, but the way they handled the heating really spoiled things. It was mid-February, and when I got back from dinner around 11 PM, the room was cold. The owner said the heat was switched off at 10. I asked if they could turn it back on and got a lecture about electricity costs and how I couldn’t possibly be cold. With arthritis and poor circulation, I was uncomfortable and ended up begging for heat in a room I’d paid for. It felt tacky and unprofessional, and left me feeling guilty. There were small charges that also left a bad taste. We were offered tea when we arrived and again after dinner, but both teas appeared on the bill. I’d assumed the welcome drink was complimentary and that tea or coffee after the meal was included. The dinner doesn’t include wine, either, FYI. The dinner itself was nice, and the location is beautiful, which makes it a shame that penny pinching over these things could put people off coming back.

We found plenty of walks nearby, and the setting was wonderfully peaceful. Georgina and Andy made us feel welcome from the start, and our room was really comfortable. A real little gem.

We spent our wedding night in the Tulip room, and it was so charming, we loved it. Georgina and Andy were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious too. We’re already looking forward to coming back to your little paradise!

Andy was helpful and attentive throughout, a great guy, and an Englishman who clearly loves France. The old mill has been turned into a charming B&B, with a stone cabin next door, just outside Meymac. Out back there’s a small forest lake with crayfish, perch and trout. It feeds into three streams that wind through the property, with little bridges here and there. Picture Rivendale (Lotr:) with a pool. I’d happily return if I get the chance, and would recommend Le Moulin De Farges. Just bear in mind it may not suit wheelchairs and similar needs.

The air was clean and the place was so relaxing. Our stay was made perfect by two of the nicest people you could meet.
