Hotel De La Pyramide

The rooms are modern and comfortable, and breakfast is great. There's a nice pool area and free parking. The hotel is beautifully situated, though it doesn't have a restaurant. It's a pleasant walk into town. Recommended.

A relaxed, family-run hotel with a nice mix of guests, from families to older and younger visitors. Our room was very comfortable and modern, with air conditioning and a spectacular Etang view. The garden rooms looked cozy too, but I'd say the lake view is worth it. Staff were helpful with beach and sightseeing suggestions, and the restaurants and harbour are within walking distance. Parking is free inside the gated property. They also make small efforts to be ecofriendly, like reducing breakfast packaging, offering affordable bike rentals, only using air conditioning when needed, and watering in the early morning or after dawn.

A great spot if you like somewhere quiet, relaxed, and a bit offbeat. We had a seafront room with wonderfully strong wind. The pool was great, and for once it wasn't overchlorinated, so swimming felt smooth. I also really enjoyed the unusual cold jacuzzi. It might not be cold enough for a Wim Hoffer, but I liked the design. The minibar prices were very reasonable, which made me use it a lot. And there was this incredibly whistly, mystical sound that made for magnificent concerts. I still have no idea what it was.

The setting is superb, the facilities are amazing, and the rooms and breakfast were really nice. But the hospitality was strange, and management should rethink its attitude. A woman followed and watched me as I went from my room to get luggage from the car. When we were leaving, the duty manager accused us of taking the liquid soap from our bathroom. In front of a breakfast room full of people, he watched me go through our toilet bag in the car park. The soap was where it belonged when we went back to the room, and he said “sorry.” I felt embarrassed and upset, and my wife was mortified. His apology wasn't adequate.
