ACE Hôtel Paris Roissy

The room was quiet, and great for the price I paid. The shuttle costs a few euros and doesn’t run all day, though. On the morning I checked out, somebody also tried to open my door.

The location is handy for the airport, with restaurants, cafes, and groceries just a few minutes away by car. My room was simple and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was really nice. It was air conditioned, too. The staff were kind and helpful, and many spoke English and seemed glad to, which helped since my French is extremely limited. Downstairs, the automatic espresso machines made delicious drinks. For a basic, no-frills place to sleep, it’s very good.

Getting there by car is fine, but I wouldn’t choose it without one. It’s a budget hotel less than 10 minutes from CDG by car. The room is small, but has the essentials: heating and air conditioning, a hot shower, and a regular bed. It looks like an Ibis Budget, only cheaper than the other brand. It’s enough for a night before or after a flight. If you’re staying longer or planning to visit Paris, I’d look at other options.

The staff tried to help with each problem I ran into, and they were great. The hotel itself is really worn down, though, and its management system feels outdated. My first room didn’t have clean sheets, so a staff member brought me fresh ones and I had to make the bed myself because housekeeping wasn’t available. That was unacceptable, so I asked to move. Some lights in the new room didn’t work, but by then I was tired and didn’t complain. The key cards deactivated at random, and the system couldn’t update me to the new room. On my last night, strangers opened the door while I was lying in bed. There’s no water at the hotel, breakfast is very limited, and most places in town stop serving food after 10. Bring snacks before checking in, or you might end up hungry.
