Monclar Escape With Tennis & Shared Pool

Everything felt comfortable and homely, and the chalet was quiet and very clean. We got a fantastic welcome, with useful advice and staff who were readily available. We had a wonderful stay and I’d happily recommend the place.

The view was magnificent, and the welcome was really friendly. But the hygiene was such a letdown that one night was plenty for us. We’d booked two chalets next to each other, yet one had no dustpan or brush while ours had two, and there wasn’t even a sponge. The dishes were dirty, the mattress protector had a big yellow stain, and there were brown marks on the curtain by the entrance. Dog hair was everywhere. My partner is allergic and had asthma all night. We swept up heaps of hair and dust, and the bathroom had a nauseating smell. It’s such a shame given the setting and the welcome, but sleeping in a dirty bed, eating from dirty dishes, breathing dog hair, and dealing with that smell has me unsure I’d come back.

There isn’t much around the park, though the village takeaway pizzeria is good. The place itself is quiet and suited us well for a short break. The cottages have some space between them and the lake looks lovely from the top of the hill, but the units are a bit dated. After a long drive, the lake and its swimming pool were especially pleasant.

The mobile homes were clean, roomy, and practical, with enough space between them that we had privacy and weren’t disturbed by other guests’ noise. The campsite entertainment was great, with evenings in the main hall and food trucks, plus a big ping-pong area just for campsite guests and a barbecue spot. The value for money was excellent, and I had a wonderful holiday. The biggest highlight was the leisure park five minutes away: lots of pools for different ages, plenty to do, and places to eat. Honestly, an unforgettable trip! ✨✨✨✨
