Maison d'hôtes Marimpoey

There’s plenty to do from this well-located spot, including Pyrenees walks, Jurançon wine tastings, time on the Basque coast, and a visit to Pau. Santiago and Marie-Claude were charming and welcoming. We spent a delightful week at Marimpoey, in a spacious guest room with tasteful decor in a beautifully restored building. We’ll be back.

The house itself is a joy, restored with exquisite taste and opened to guests with such warmth that we felt comfortable in the family kitchen. On the terrace, the hen pecks at corn while the dog keeps an eye on her. The rooms are charming and comfortable, and one bed even has a crocheted cover made by a grandmother. Marie-Claude and Santiago welcomed us like friends, even offering us a taste of their neighbors’ Jurançon wine. Their home’s setting is just as memorable: vineyards, fields, and woods stretch out in every direction, with the Pyrenees in shades of blue from the Basque Pyrenees to the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. There’s lots to fill your time with nearby, from walks and visits to the local wineries and the church in Monein. Marie Claude and Santiago are wonderful hosts, and their home is magnificent, with a superb view. It’s an ideal place to recharge. Thanks again for being so kind and available. See you soon.
