The hosts were eccentric, really nice, and kept everyone laughing. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden with a local organic beer. The gîte was the most expensive of our GR54 trip, but well worth the extra money for the open atmosphere and the food. The meals were a real highlight. Everything from the tea and beer to the food was organic or biological, and even the toilet paper was unbleached. We had a homemade Himalayan lentil dish with rice and fried vegetables, which tasted amazing. On arrival, we saw fresh zucchinis ready to be cooked. Breakfast was the only one on our trip with fruit and charcuterie, a welcome break from sweet jam every morning. We slept in a six-bed dorm with clean sheets and covers, thick comfortable mattresses, and sturdy double beds that didn’t creak. My only suggestion is to add more charging ports for phones and batteries.
