We’re experienced travelers from the US, and Le Chateau Edward the premier was a real experience, not just a hotel. The owners were warm and caring, and the restaurant served a meal my wife and I still talk about. It’s set in a beautiful spot in one of France’s most charming bastide villages, and I’d say it’s a must if you’re staying in the Dordogne.

Isabelle deserves a special thank you for making us feel so welcome. The staff were lovely, kind, and helpful throughout our two peaceful, relaxing nights at Château Hôtel Edward 1er. We slept well in the comfortable beds and enjoyed a beautiful dinner at the restaurant one evening. We’d happily recommend it and hope to come back.

The grounds were beautifully kept, and the location made it easy to explore Monpazier. I had a comfortable room, great service, and a breakfast with a good range of options. This was my favorite hotel on my Dordogne Valley trip, and I’d highly recommend it for a memorable stay in the region.
