Lake Jemaye was a standout, with free paddleboards and kayaks, good facilities, and a lovely setting. The area is quiet, but what you need is close by. It felt like real France, with great produce, proper hospitality, beautiful countryside, and none of the crowds you sometimes find further into the Dordogne. Our girls loved spending the week with Richard and Ola’s children, Sophie and Sienna, who were the same age as them. They’re the sweetest, most welcoming young people, and the kids made lovely memories together. Thank you, girls! The villa itself was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and had everything we could need. The pool was perfect, and it felt like a home from home. The welcome drinks and snacks on Monday evening were a lovely touch, and gave us a chance to meet the other guests and get ideas for the week. We had a brilliant week at Villa Duroux in July 2025. Richard and Ola made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They’re genuinely lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. We left totally relaxed, with lots of memories, and are already looking forward to coming back. Spectacular hosts and accommodation. We’d highly recommend it.

A gem in the French countryside, ideal if you enjoy walking, cycling, or simply relaxing. The gites are modern and well equipped, with lovely gardens, a quality pool, and a sun terrace. It’s only a few kilometres from the river and local amenities. Chez Duroux is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and Richard and Ola are amazingly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

We’d love to come back. Richard and Ola have clearly put a lot into renovating the houses and making holidays memorable. The villa is a fantastic place to enjoy the countryside, and we think it would suit couples and families alike. We had the comfort of home in a secluded spot, while still having easy access to nearby villages. The hosts were very welcoming, and the swimming pool was great.

We’re delighted we’ll get to stay again soon. The hosts were welcoming and shared helpful information about the area and living in France in general. The pool area is really well done, with cold drinks, a cute little beach hut, and a seating area. My partner borrowed one of their bikes and had a lovely afternoon exploring. It was just right for what we needed.

We had such a good time, relaxing by the pool or at the pool bar, having a BBQ, and eating outside on our terrace. We were also invited to join Ola and Richard and the other guests for dinner or drinks, which was lovely. Our hosts and their family made us feel so welcome, including Enzo the dog, who got on really well with our dog. We enjoyed the local area, made some new friends, and even saw some great meteor activity in the clear night sky.
