Chateau du Hallay

The castle was so pretty and the room was spotless. Our host was warm, friendly, and always ready to help. We could explore the whole place, including the living room, dining area, and chapel, and they even lent me a bike to see the town. I still remember the great time I had with their dog. I visited through Airbnb in 2022, and it was one of my best nights there.

Celine and Olivier were such kind, welcoming, and interesting hosts. When we unexpectedly needed to go to hospital during the night, they went well beyond what we could reasonably have expected to help, even though it caused them considerable inconvenience. We stayed in a large room with a very comfortable bed and period furnishings. The Chateau is remarkable inside and out, and the grounds include a lovely chapel and orangery. It's a quiet, peaceful place, and we woke to two hot air balloons being inflated on the lawn before watching them rise into the blue sky. The building is being renovated with care. A memorable chance to stay somewhere historic and different, and we recommend Chateau Du Hallay wholeheartedly.

Our breakfast was served in a delightful dining room, with a lovely view, and felt wonderfully relaxing. We stayed in the beautiful Medievale and Venitienne suites, each with its own character. The bedrooms throughout the chateau are authentic and unique. Celine and Olivier, along with their dog Theodore, gave us a warm welcome just minutes from the autoroute. They were enthusiastic, kind hosts and introduced us to the chateau and its surroundings. The place is well preserved, with high ceilings, striking decoration and furnishings, original details, and a private chapel. It made for a 10 out of 10 chateau stay, and we highly recommend Celine & Olivier's beautiful home.

We had a tasty evening apéro with Céline and Olivier, including some delicious locally sourced sparkling wine, and heard lots of interesting things about the chateau and the surrounding area. The next morning's breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and delicious, with homemade jams. Our one-night stay began with a very warm welcome. The grounds and woodland were peaceful and beautiful, with the Orangerie and Chapel. The chateau is beautifully preserved, and our clean, pretty bedroom, the ‘Chambre Floréale’, was lovely. Very happy to recommend it.
