Maison d'hôtes La Domitia

The care throughout our stay was something we really noticed. Having worked in superyachts, where service matters so much, we appreciated all the thoughtful details. We were there over Easter, and they had set up a little chocolate egg hunt for the kids “from the bunny rabbit.” It was such a sweet touch and made things magical for our little ones. We’re an Australian family travelling around Europe for a year and have stayed in plenty of places, but La Domitia was truly special and exceeded our expectations. The room was stunning, the beds were super comfy, and we loved having a beautiful lounge and pool room to unwind in. After a long travel day, the sauna was perfect. We slept like babies! Breakfast was a dream, with local pastries, homemade yogurt, fresh bread, meats, and cheese, all put together with care. Hospitality like this is rare to find in France. The mansion is stately, and it’s set in a quiet village near Montpelier. The hotel has been updated and appointed with real care. Our host was personable and accommodating, and breakfast was lovely: local jams and cheeses, four or five kinds of homemade bread, plus croissants and baguettes. A lovely stay.

Edwig and Nicolas were excellent hosts, with helpful tips for restaurants and tours. We spent five nights in early August as a small family, in a spacious family room with a large bathroom. The house has everything you need and more, with a private, exclusive feel. The garden and pool are beautifully landscaped and made for relaxing. Breakfast had plenty of choice, from cereals and baguettes to charcuterie, delicious cheese, homemade jams, pastries, and fruit. There were also drinks, wine, sodas, and ice cream in the fridge to take and pay for at the end of the stay. We used the house as a base for beach trips, Grotte de Clamouse, Montpellier, and bike rides. Give yourself time to stay longer at La Domitia, it’s worth it!

The house, rooms, and garden are beautiful and super clean, and the location worked perfectly for all kinds of trips. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the good contact with our top hosts. Thanks!
